I always knew I wanted to be in the healthcare field, I had a passion that burned bright for helping people. I allowed myself to explore many avenues that all lead me to pursuing chiropractic. I became a chiropractic patient right after I graduated high school, I had just gotten in a car wreck with a big buck. I had a stiff neck and my entire body was in pain, my mom recommended that we go see the local chiropractor in town. I had never felt so seen in an office about my complaints and had such a thorough exam before. The immediate relief I experienced from one adjustment had me coming back ever since.
Fast forward some, I went to Murray State University in 2018 for undergrad school and pursued a couple of avenues before I landed in Public and Community Health with a concentration in Health and Fitness Management, earning my Bachelors. I had to do an internship in the healthcare field of my choice that lined up with the career path I wanted to go down. I was unsure of what I would pursue following Murray, but my chiropractor would tell me every time I would go see him that he knew I was meant to be in the chiropractic field and how I would love it. I ended up choosing to do my internship at his chiropractic office and over that time I fell in love with the profession. Seeing the way chiropractic changed people’s lives and the relief they got from it was amazing to me. Thank you, Dr. Bric Steward, for helping me find my passion and always being a mentor.
After Murray State University, I went to Parker University in Dallas, TX. Diving deep into the origin of chiropractic and the techniques allowed me to fall deeper in love with the profession. While I was there, I also sought out my Bachelor’s in Anatomy and my Masters in Pediatric Musculoskeletal Health and Performance. Learning the different techniques and what we can do for individuals was life changing. Applying the skills I learned and seeing it first-hand make a difference in someone’s life was amazing. The body’s ability to heal itself when you amplify the nervous system and reconnect it how it’s supposed to be is mesmerizing. During my last 6 months of chiropractic school, I did a rotation at the VA in Bay Pines, FL working with veterans. I worked with complex cases and got to see a whole new side to chiropractic. I was blessed to give back to a community that so graciously gave so much to this country.
While in school, I became Activator Methods Certified in both basic and advanced. I am, also, Webster Certified through the ICPA organization. I am pursuing my Pediatric Certification through the ICPA organization to further my education in the pediatric and perinatal population.
In my free time, I like to read books, work out, cook/bake, spend time with my family and friends, play with my mini dachshund Quill, watch sports, and occasional gaming. I love to travel and experience new places. I always like to look for new things to try and new adventures to go on.
I look forward to the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss in depth what’s going on and what we can do to help you!
